We offer several CE courses per year, totaling at least 50 required CE credits per two-year period.
ACCHS is approved by the California Acupuncture Board as a continuing education provider for licensed acupuncturists (Provider Number 001).

In this course, Dr. Huang Huang will introduce the constitutional, Formula-Family style of practice. He will focus on explaining the Disease-Formula-Person analysis, and on the key characteristics of the major formula families.
Finally, he will present the formula presentations for clinically useful Classical formulas.

    context of Shanghan Lun scholarship

2. Functional Qigong for Clinical Practitioners

The intent of the course is to introduce a practical and accessible approach to the classical healing art of qigong. The content of this material has two primary clinical applications. The first application is for the patient so that they may supplement their treatment between sessions. The second application is for the practitioner so that they may nourish themselves and improve the quality of care they provide.

3. 2017 NADA Training in Auricular Therapy
CEU Hours: 30 CEUs pending
Instructor: Carolyn Reuben, L.Ac. RT (NADA Registered Trainer)

Didactic lectures (30 CEU’s): March 10 – 12, 2017 (8:30am – 5:30pm) & March 16, 2017 (6pm-9pm) (or for out-of-towners only, Monday, 9-noon)
Practicum: March 13 (10:30-11:30am), March 14 (3:30-4:30pm), March 15 (10:30-11:30am and 1-3pm), and March 16, (1 – 3pm) and more times may be added. All are optional.
*In California this course is limited to licensed acupuncturists and physicians only.

This course is the standardized NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) training. It includes a 30 hour didactic classroom education and a 40-patient practicum at various local drug treatment programs, one walking distance from ACCHS, one in downtown Berkeley, and three housing centers in the Mission District of San Francisco associated with Glide Memorial Church. Some of the 40 may be the student’s own family, friends, and patients.

Didactic education includes an overview of addiction as a medical pathology, a culture, and a state of being that is influenced by genetic and environmental conditions; successful treatment for cravings of all kinds; and strategies for approaching clients, administrators, and funders of treatment programs. Also covered are the pharmaceuticals commonly used by patients seen in any acupuncture practice, nutritional approaches to addictive behaviors, and the TCM concept of addiction.

Requirements for a NADA Acudetox Specialist certificate include completing the didactic hours, treating 40 patients, writing a brief comparison of two 12 step programs (AA and NA), and indicating to the instructor competence in providing the NADA protocol. The clinical practicum can also be completed at another time, to be coordinated with the trainer.

4. Acupuncture/Acupressure Facial and Body Rejuvenation Workshop

Didactic lectures (14 CEU’s): April 8 – 9, 2017 (10:00am – 6:00pm)

This dynamic, 2-day workshop, with Internationally renowned practitioner and presenter Susan Krieger, L.Ac. MS, will provide hands-on training, knowledge and skills for Acupuncture/Acupressure Facial and Body Rejuvenation Treatments with a strong emphasis on practical applications. 

 

We will integrate special Facial Acupuncture and Acupressure techniques, using gentle hands on, thin appropriate needles and organic; non-scented cream and plant based herbal lotion.  We will incorporate external Qi-Gong and hands on Assessment and Palpation techniques to enhance and renew Facial Vitality and for Anti-Aging, while strengthening the receiver’s internal health and root Qi energy.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • All cancellations must be received in writing by letter, fax, or email (abella@acchs.edu).
  • Cancellations made at least 7 calendar days prior to the first class day will receive a full refund less a $40.00 administration fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 calendar days prior to the first class day will receive a 50% refund.
  • ACCHS is unable to transfer course fees paid for one seminar or course to any other seminar or course.
  • In the unlikely event that ACCHS has to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment, or for some other unforeseen reason, registrants will receive a full refund.
